Designing the warp Each warp has on average 586 threads, each measuring 7 metres. This will make 3 scarves Warps are designed by Nick laying threads alongside each other to determine the color patterns. All this is based on previous sketchbook work and paintings. Completed silk scarves will contain an average of 1,900 metres of yarn. The spacings and pattern of each design is worked out on paper and carefully calculated so that the completed piece will be balanced and harmonious. |
