Winding the warp

The designed warp is then wound onto a wooden
frame thread by thread, each in the correct
sequence. This takes several hours.

As the warp is wound it is marked in groups of 48
threads as the final warp will have this amount of
threads per inch.

Once this process is complete the warp is tied and
carefully removed from the frame, then taken to the loom.

Winding the warp is a process that leaves marks on
my knuckles as I frequently bang my hands on the
wooden pegs... for those of you who look at me
strangely when we meet and shake hands.
